HELP(2) is the latest in a string of albums to raise money for Warchild. The title is a reference to the original HELP album that was released at the height of Britpop, back in the 90’s.
It features plenty of indie royalty, both old and new, like Arctic Monkeys, Fontaines DC, Pulp, The Last Dinner Party, Big Thief and Depeche Mode. This results in a plenty of variation. That’s the one thing that album lovers like myself could see as a downside: it feels more like a playlist then a singular body of work. Anyway, many of the songs deserve your attention, so recommended to give it a listen, and at the same time support a good cause.
